Sofia Monika Swatek
Artist Sofia Monika Swatek was born in Poland. After experiencing some difficult challenges in her earlier life Sofia found pleasure and escape in painting and creativity. She lives and exhibits in Dublin.
Sofia uses acrylic paints and outliner for glass in many different mediums. The theme of her painting often includes expressive female nudes, clowns, everyday objects, mandalas with Celtic and Indian designs.With a wide range of methods to apply paint to the canvas. “Painting gives me great joy. It lets me escape from my everyday problems. It’s calming. Since childhood I have been creating sketches and paintings inspired by my surrounding world which I see filled with small miracles. After experiencing a very serious illness I decided to be a professional artist. Life is too short to do a job you don’t want to do. The world is full not only of seemingly grey buildings etc. but it’s full of beauty and intense emotions and feelings which are impossible to avoid. This is why I treat painting as a mission to remind people around me about the small but important life details, which often go unnoticed while running to work or hurrying to catch a bus. Life could be much more beautiful if we wished, at least for a moment, to stop and look...”
